Obedience training is held on Friday evenings and we have classes ranging from puppies to trial standard. We teach basic heeling, sit, drop, stays, recall and socialisation.
Training is conducted in a class structure. Class sessions go for
approximately 45 minutes. You can purchase leads and various collars from the
											club at reasonable prices.

Our Club requires its members to have their dogs fully vaccinated prior to
training and annually. If you wish to join the Club, it is essential that
you bring along your dog's current vaccination card. Also, the vaccination card
must be sighted annually with each renewal of membership.

											Levels

											Puppy
Class (up to 6 months) - This class is designed to socialise your dog with other dogs and handlers.
This is the most critical period in a dog's education and development. This is
a fun class with the basic introduction to obedience while owners have the
opportunity to discuss problems and ask questions associated with their own
											dogs.

Beginners – This class is an
introduction to basic obedience work. Including teaching dogs to sit, stand,
drop, turns and come when called (on long lead)
Intermediate – This class has more obedience work. For example, stays, left and right turns and also provides an introduction to rally.
Triallers Class - The concept of the trialling class is to present the triallers with a very structured class aimed at a high level of competition and ring etiquette. It would require a member of the class to be dedicated to achieving the very best that they could reasonably expect of themselves and their dog. This means that not every team will achieve the same level at the same time, but everyone will have the opportunity to reach their goals. Handlers could join the class at any stage of their training, but an early start would best benefit consistency. The aim of the class is to train in a confident, constructive and happy manner with positive reinforcement to alleviate correcting mistakes at a later stage. It is much easier to train for accuracy in the first instance.
Graduation Nights – This will be held on the last night of the month. See the Chief instructor for more information.
